A Welcoming Congregation
Richardson Christian Center![]() The former Masonic Lodge was donated to First United Methodist Church (FUMC) of Nixon, Texas, in 2008 and consecrated on September 13, 2009, as the Richardson Christian Center (RCC), named after the late Travis Richardson, a very active member of FUMC Nixon. (map)
The mission of FUMC Nixon is to connect people to God and minister to the community by studying, teaching and living the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The mission of the RCC, within the larger mission of FUMC, is oriented toward youth. Our Youth Group hopes to connect and grow with other Christians by the activities that will take place at the RCC. Whether through music, drama or Bible study, one of the Youth Group’s goals will be to challenge other youth to grow in their faith and apply it to all areas of their life. It's not easy being a teenager, but without Christ it is even tougher, so another of our Youth Group’s goals is to reach out to the unchurched for Christ and help them open their hearts, minds, and lives to Christ.
The RCC will also be used for other FUMC ministries and activities, as well as community outreach.
