Paul's 2nd & 3rd Missionary Journey Cruise, Nov 5-17, 2011

Paul's 2nd & 3rd Missionary Journey Cruise, a 13-day program, November 5 (Saturday) - 17 (Thursday), 2011, is the second in the Christian heritage series of tours for First United Methodist Church of Nixon, Texas, following the Holy Land Tour that we experienced in January of 2010.  The tour operator is Educational Opportunities Tours.  The Tour Host is Rev. George Bradley, pastor of FUMC Nixon.  We invite you to join us on this grand tour to sense the spread of Christianity into the Greco-Roman world of the first century A.D.

This cruise visits several, but not all, of the locations of Paul's second and third missionary journeys of the first century A.D.: guided tours in Athens, Corinth, Ephesus, and Rome, with trips to ancient Olympia, the Galilee, Cairo and the Giza plateau (the Great Pyramids), and lectures by Dr. Robert G. Tuttle, who has taught at the Oral Roberts Graduate School of Theology, Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, and Asbury Theological Seminary of Wilmore, KY, before moving to the Asbury Dunham Campus (Orlando, FL) in 2000 (see brochure).  Breakfast and supper is included; lunch ashore is usually on your own.

The BASIC COST of this tour [see brochure, page 4 & "fine print"] (stateroom/$2398; extended departure city (SATX or another listed)/$448; pre-paid gratuities/$129; taxes/$398; port charges/$298; non-refundable administrative fee/$90; & [recommended] travel protection [for this stateroom]/$199) is $3,960.00.

You have more than a year (14 months) to save up!  If you register by September 5, 2010, you will save $130; by May 5, 2011, this savings will bottom out at $30 [see brochure, page 3].  You must send a deposit of $500/person when you register; full payment is due 120 days (4 months: July 2011) prior to departure.

If you wish to go on this wonderful tour, go to the travel registration form (brochure, page 4) and enter the following data on the first two lines:  Host: George Bradley; ID#: 49273; Dep. City: San Antonio (or the city on the brochure/page 2 nearest you).  PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU HAVE A U.S. PASSPORT VALID FOR AT LEAST SIX MONTHS AFTER THE DEPARTURE DATE OF THE TOUR (November 5, 2011).  You may also register online (go to second page, scroll down to Paul's Second and 3rd Missionary Journey 2011, click on Register Online, and follow the prompts).

One more thing . . .  Please Contact Us to let Rev. Bradley, the Tour Host, know that you have registered, whether by registration form or online.

Our cruise ship, the new "Costa Pacifica," completed on June 6, 2009, is a huge ship: 114,500 tons (heavier than a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier), 951 feet long, 116 feet wide, 1500 staterooms.  We hope to have 50 passengers on our tour.  We will have a great time together and learn much about our Christian heritage...a valuable asset for witnessing to others about the Lord Jesus Christ and his relevance in a 21st century world!
